Botshabelo have come up with ways you can assist them

KYALAMI – Jessica Smith, fundraising director for Botshabelo assures that by helping them you can make the year memorable for both their organisation and yourself included.

Botshabelo has come up with some easy ways to make the year memorable and different for both residents and their organisation.

Jessica Smith, director for fundraising said, “Whether it be through your birthday, wedding, anniversary or another special celebration, asking for donations [for Botshabelo] instead of gifts would be an inspirational way to mark your special day and help the organisation.”

She added that you could also ‘Adopt a Cot, for up to R3 000 a month. “You choose the sponsorship amount, and we will send you regular updates on the child in your cot(s),” she added.

Smith further suggested that another way to help would be to connect Botshabelo with a company’s corporate social investment.

She said they would love to build a partnership to discuss simple solutions for carrying out a company’s CSI/R vision and earn them B-BBEE points.

“Donations of clothing of all sizes, household and office items, toys, and more are welcome. We sell any excess donations that we cannot use in one of our programmes and the income from these sales goes directly back to caring for our children.

“We offer Section 18A tax receipts for all donations from individuals and companies to help improve your BEE rating. Other ways to help would be through sponsoring a child’s education, or by donating our most needed items such as stationery, nappies, formula, wet wipes, peanut butter, and jam.”

Smith said companies could also host corporate days with them by rallying employees for a team-building day, hosting a fun day, helping with renovations or collecting items on their wish-list.

“You can also get fit by joining one or all of our sporting events this year, or being an ambassador for Botshabelo because your contacts, connections and enthusiasm make us flourish.”
