Ward 132 councillor continues to make a difference

MIDRAND – She explained that not everything will be fixed at once, as there are some areas that require more attention.

The councillor for Ward 132 Annette Deppe hopes to rise to the occasion this year to deliver services to the best of her abilities to the residents of the ward.

Ward 132 includes areas such as Halfway Gardens, Waterfall City, Carlswald A.H, Kayalami Glen, and Country Lifestyle Village.

Deppe was awarded the City of Joburg’s long service award last year for helping residents in her ward escalate service delivery issues to the relevant departments, and it appears that she will continue to do so.

“I have already received more than 200 complaints from the residents with no water, no electricity, faulty maters, billing problems, social problems, business forums, potholes, and grass cutting amongst many others,” Deppe said.

Deppe said not everything could be fixed at once with some areas requiring more attention.

“We also need to deal with the issue of overcrowding in townhouses and complexes, derelict houses, bad buildings, hawkers, and illegal signage.”
Deppe concluded by encouraging non-government organisations to work closely with her as they shared a similar mission of uplifting the community.
