The New Jerusalem Children’s Home is appealing for donors or sponsors to help one of their children, Liberty Mbathane.
Mbathane recently passed Grade 12 and needs funds to go to university.
Mbathane, who is 20 years old, has resided at the home for more than 12 years.
According to Keitumetsi Ngobeni, public relations person for the home, he was admitted into the home in 2014 together with his two younger sisters who are equally driven and hard-working as he is.
“He spent all his childhood in homes and has not had the privilege of being raised by parents or foster parents.

“In the past year, he was doing his matric and passed with a bachelor’s admission. He is meticulous and dedicated to building a good future for himself and contributes largely to society,” said Ngobeni.
Ngobeni added that Liberty’s dream was to study business management at the University of Free State where he has received an unconditional acceptance letter.
She added that they would like to extend the call to donors or sponsors who could assist in covering his registration fees, tuition, and accommodation.
Ngobeni said Liberty’s registration fees amounted to R1 300, his first-year tuition R30 292, and his books would cost R7 260. She added that other fees would be made available upon request by donors or sponsors.
“If you would like to help Liberty pursue his studies to become an educated young man who will contribute positively to society, please contact pr@njch.org.za, info@njch.org.za or call 010 224 0458/59/60.”
