As a further measure to ensure safety in Midrand, the Midrand Sector 2 and 5 crime forums collaborated in a high visibility operation on February 4.
The operation was supported by Midrand police, ARN Security and Hawkeye Security.
The operation took place from 19:00 to 22:00 and suspicious persons and vehicles were checked.
“We have come across a few vehicles with additional sets of different number plates in their boots,” said Nolan Naidoo of Midrand Sector 2. “This was duly investigated.”
Overall, Midrand Sectors 2 and 5 were quiet during the operation with no reported incidents.
“We are continuously looking for additional volunteers to join us, if you would like to sign up to be a patroller, please reach out to us,” Naidoo concluded.
