Midrand Police Station Commander Brigadier Molefi Tsotsotso said the foundation needed to be commended that it distributes blankets throughout the winter season.
As the winter season is fast approaching, about 55 blankets were donated to the Midrand SAPS social crime prevention to assist the homeless and people in need of warmth.
The hand over donation was done on Good Friday, April 15, outside the Midrand Police Station.
The Station Commander of the Midrand police, Brigadier Molefi Tsotsotso said the foundation TRS NRI South Africa has donated over 55 blankets which were distributed, with some still to be handed out within the Midrand area.

“We appreciated the helping hand from kind donors as they keep on assisting people in need during these cold months. Some blankets will be taken to victims of Gender Based Violence,” said Tsotsotso.
He said the foundation needed to be commended that it distributes blankets throughout the winter season in various locations around the country.
The president of the TRS NRI SA, Gurrala Nagraju said they will keep on building a good working relationship with other departments, and not police only.

“We will also work with all social development departments for an alliance to assist our community moving forward to make South Africa a better country,” said Nagraju.
He concluded that they will always work a lot with the support of local police to look out for the destitute.
