The 2022 Corporate Champions Golf Day at Steyn City was a success

The Corporate Champions Golf Day aims to inspire change and give back to the community.

After a long week of heavy rains and chilly temperatures in Gauteng, the sun came out to shine for the Corporate Champions Golf Day on April 14 at the prestigious Steyn City golf course.

Representatives of leading corporations across South Africa came together for a fun day in support of an amazing cause to support a local charity. The golf day was hosted by Springbok rugby legend, Richard Edward ‘Richie’ Bands, and attended by special guest reigning Mrs South Africa Jo Judnick-Wilson.

“I am honored to be part of the Corporate Champions ‘Play to Inspire’ golf day at Steyn City this year, it has been an amazing and fulfilling experience meeting and engaging with the golfers and teams who came out to support the charity beneficiary. It certainly was a memorable event,’’, said Judnick-Wilson.

The event aims to inspire change and give back to the community. It was sponsored by Standard Bank South Africa, Umodzi Gin, and Fitch and Leedes Mixers, and attended by golfers and non-golfers who participated in the event to show their support for the cause.

Proceeds from the event will be used to acquire winter essentials for a child and youth centre in Benoni just in time for winter.

The event was certainly a fun and memorable day of golf, team building, business networking, and an indelible experience on one of South Africa’s best golf courses. This to celebrate what is hoped to be a successful business year now with South Africa’s national state of disaster having been lifted, and given the challenges faced by most businesses over the past two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

After a competitive, fun, and challenging day on the golf course, the Standard Bank South Africa four-ball came out on top as the winners of the day and was named the 2022 Corporate Champions at the prize-giving dinner.

The event was curated by TR Brand Communications and Events. “Giving back is something that we as a company value, and we are honoured to have received overwhelming support from the South African corporate giants who understand our vision and share our passion to be the change we want to see in the world,” said Esther Lumumba, a senior executive at TR Brand Communications and Events.

“We look forward to hosting everyone again at our 2023 event, and congratulations to our 2022 Corporate Champions.”
