Mastiff and Allendale roads are awash in bright colours for the Fun Color Walk
The 11km walk was meant to send a message to the community that health is vital.
More than 60 residents from Midrand and surrounds dressed up in their best and brightest clothes for the inaugural Midrand Fun Colour Walk.
The walk, also known as the Happiest Walk, is a unique paint race that celebrates healthiness, happiness, and individuality among others.
The 11km walk took place on Mastiff and Allendale roads on May 14. The organiser, Kabelo Gobetse, explained that they chose these roads because they were the safest in the area.

The walk was hosted by the K and M Midrand Fitness Club, a non-profit organisation founded by Gobetse and Mahlodi Mashatola.
“Out of this walk, we wanted to send a message to the community to take health seriously and make sure the youth stay away from drugs,” Gobetse said.
Among the sponsors were Tshepo Maema and Phumalani Dlamini, who wish to see children from the surrounding area, especially the township areas, do well in life as they are more likely to fall into drug use.

Gobetse thanked the community for attending and making the event fun and engaging. “God bless everyone who attended because, as the first colour fun walk, we never thought the community can come up in numbers. We are asking for more sponsors to make the next event even brighter,” concluded Gabotse.
Details: Those who wish to sponsor the next event can contact Kabelo Gobetse on 076 859 9612 or email tshipigobetse@gmail.com
