Léchar Knezovich hosts a Cansa fundraiser at Beaulieu College

Cansa relies on fundraising events and projects to fund its cancer care and support services.

Noordwyk resident Léchar Knezovich recently teamed up with Beaulieu College to host a Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa) fundraiser.

Learners and teachers completed laps around the rugby field which people could sponsor to raise money for Cansa.

The event was accompanied by music, delicious food stalls, and a lot of team spirit.

“It was a fun, informative, and interactive day out where the children contributed to a wonderful cause,” said Knezovich who is also a Mrs South Africa Finalist 2022.

Léchar Knezovich says it has always been her personal goal to speak at a school and inspire children to follow their dreams.

“It was always a personal goal of mine to speak at a school and inspire children to follow their dreams. I also wanted to educate them on the various types of cancers out there and that being a part of fundraising initiatives really helps to gain awareness as well as help people in need,” she added.

Cansa relies on income generated from its fundraising events and projects in order to sustain the care and support it provides to those affected by cancer.

Joining Knezovich at the fundraiser were representatives from Cansa who were there to share their stories and be a voice for people living with this life-threatening disease.

Mrs SA 2022 Jo Judnick-Wilson was also available and gave an empowering talk regarding how the future of South Africa rests in the decisions that the youth make and how fundraisers like this one play a huge role in assisting Cansa research and caregiving.

“Cansa is a cause I hold dear to my heart, and I am so grateful I got to give back to those in need. Having my own bra brand, Perfect Fit, we help to contribute to the surgeries for underprivileged women that have undergone mastectomy and cannot afford reconstructive surgery.

“I hope that more people will take it upon themselves to give back to the community as we are stronger when we come together,” added Knezovich.

She thanked Beaulieu College for allowing her to host the event with them as well as all the sponsors — Skull Candy, SWAT laser tag, Dreambox and Gary Rom, and Mall of Africa.
