Aftercare facility for Noordwyk Primary
Noordwyk Secondary School acting principal Clayton Paul believes the aftercare facility will help minimise young learners wandering outside the school premises.
In a bid to ensure learners’ safety, Noordwyk Primary School will be offering an aftercare facility this year to service and assist parents who work late.
The school’s acting principal Clayton Paul said this was identified as an area of improvement aimed at safeguarding learners who have to wait for hours outside the school premises to be picked up by their parents or guardians.
“We understand that some parents have no choice, so, therefore, we want to assist our parents to relieve them of this stressful dilemma of having to leave their learners outside the school until they are picked up,” said Paul.
“We want our school to reflect our community at large. As a primary school, we produce brilliant scholars in our feeder schools like Noordwyk Secondary and Midrand High schools. We want to update to a modern and progressive school.”

Paul urged interested individuals who have coaching skills and would like to share them with the school at large including teachers and learners. He appealed to those individuals from Midrand community to volunteer their services with the aim of assisting develop the school.
“We are running a school nutrition programme for learners from families who cannot afford to bring lunch to school, we appeal to big supermarkets to sponsor food items so that we can supplement our nutrition meals for needy learners. As an educational institution, we service many families who come from impoverished backgrounds, it is therefore we will appreciate any form of sponsor from these companies in return for advertising at our school.”
Paul urged big supermarkets and companies operating in Noordwyk to assist the school with educational resources and materials, sports equipment like goalposts and playing kits, cricket, soccer, netball, and volleyball equipment, and proper playing field and courts.
