Meet Eduvos Midrand Debate Union’s president
She founded the new debate club last year as she is passionate about the sport.

Zamaphathwa Phathwa is the current president of the Eduvos Midrand Debate Union and deputy chairperson for the Southern Africa Universities Debating Championships (SAUDC) 2022/23.
She founded the new debate club in 2022 as she is passionate about the sport. She is described as a hard worker which is evident in the success of the Midrand Debate Club.
She is an experienced speaker, starting all the way from high school, winning multiple competitions, including in Midrand where she turned a team of new debaters into Eduvos’ Inter-campus unbeatables.
She hosted the inter-campuses Eduvos Bedfordview match and the Eduvos Pretoria match where Midrand qualified for SAUDC after winning those matches.
She hosted the first Eduvos Intercampus Debating tournament which hosted four campuses each consisting of more than three teams per campus. Midrand Campus won the tournament.
