Former Glen Austin deputy head girl enjoys modelling with passion

In May 2021, Ziphozonke Mathole came second in the Miss Jozi auditions in her first pageant and has never looked back.

Not many youngsters fresh from high school believe in taking a gap year but former Glen Austin High School deputy head girl, Ziphozonke Mathole, did just that to figure out what she wants to study next year.

Mathole (19) describes herself as a girl with many dreams and ambitions and does not want to find herself studying a course she does not like.
She currently lives in Allandale and said there is a lot she learnt from being the deputy head girl.

“When you are a leader, you need to have integrity, to be honest with yourself and with others. You need to have good communication skills. When there’s miscommunication then there are misunderstandings so it’s best to communicate clearly what is needed to be able to lead effectively,” said Mathole.

Despite taking a gap year, she says she hopes to be thriving for the best and academically being the student, she wants to be as soon as she goes back to school.
“Professionally, I want to be known for being a great model which again will be inspiring young girls like me that they can be who they want to be regardless of where they come from. I’m currently taking a gap year. I didn’t get the chance to go to school this year but I am grateful for everything because I was able to find myself and see what exactly I want to do when I go to school.”

She said her modelling was inspired by people telling her that she could make a great model.
In 2020 Mathole decided to join Figures Modelling and that’s when she fell in love with it because she was at her happiest whenever she was there.
In May 2021, she come second in the Miss Jozi auditions in her first pageant.
