Residents fed up with constant power cuts in Wards 110 and 80

Residents handed over a memorandum of demand to City Power.

Residents marched to City Power’s offices in Midrand to hand over a memorandum of demands on June 15.

This follows after Wards 110 and 80 residents had a meeting to discuss a way forward regarding frequent load reduction unplanned and planned power cuts.

Ward 110 and 80 include Kanana Rabie Ridge, President Park, Mayibuye and Austin View.

No political parties were involved in the protest but it is rather an initiative of the community from the above areas.

The protest included a drive slow convoy to the offices to deliver the memorandum to the regional director, Abigail Ndlovu.
