Despite his young age, the Curro Sagewood learner has already shown great potential, and his coaches have high hopes for his future in the sport.

His versatility on the field comes as no surprise as he looks up to Mohamed Salah, the Egyptian and Liverpool right winger and forward, as his role model.

Although he primarily plays as a defender, he is also adept at playing as a midfielder.

Since joining Midrand United, Alidzulwi’s biggest highlight was being voted the most improved player in his first year at the club.

This recognition further fuelled his love for soccer. He was drawn to Midrand United after seeing a feature on the club in the Midrand Reporter.

Despite struggling with reading at the time, he asked his father to contact coach Morgan Moodley so that he and his older brother could join the team.

The staff at Midrand United recognised Alidzulwi’s potential and developed him into one of the most reliable defenders in their U12 division.

They also saw his potential as a destroyer in the middle of the park, with his strength being a key asset.

Alidzulwi credits the club for instilling discipline and motivation in him, and he has become passionate about soccer because of the skills he learned at the club.

Alidzulwi cherishes match days, as they allow him to showcase his skills and meet his friends while enjoying the beautiful game.

He believes that soccer is not just about winning but also about passion, team effort, and building skills and relationships both on and off the field.

He is determined to become a professional soccer player, and he works hard every day to achieve his dream, which he is confident he will make a reality.
