Sports and Recreation partners with Sea Rescue SA to Hone Learners’ swimming skills

Sports and Recreation partners with Sea Rescue SA to hone learners' swimming skills.

Region A Sports and Recreation collaborated with Sea Rescue South Africa to conduct a highly successful Learn-to-Swim programme for the local children on March 6.
The programme is designed to impart valuable knowledge about water safety and to teach swimming as an essential life skill to the local school learners.
It takes place every Tuesday in March and is aimed at children who do not have access to a swimming pool at home, particularly those from the township schools.
According to Pierre Nel, the assistant director for CRUM Region A, this programme is more than essential for the children as it teaches them important skills that they may not otherwise have access to.

The programme was a great success, with more than 120 learners from Rabie Ridge and surrounding areas benefitting from it.

The children were eager to learn some swimming skills from the best and were thrilled to have the opportunity to do so.
