Sports and Recreation Region A has been committed to promoting healthy sports activities in the local community, and it has been doing so with great success.

Following the outstanding results achieved with the Learn-To-Swim programme for the children at Rabie Ridge Swimming Pool, Sports and Recreation continued its collaboration with the National Sea Rescue Institution on March 12, hosting a group of senior citizens from Rabie Ridge Golden Oldies, Khomanani Vakhegula, and Ubuntu Centre.

The programme was not only educational but also fun, as the seniors enjoyed themselves immensely, taking deep dives into the pool to cool off from the heat.

The assistant director for Crum Region A, Pierre Nel, expressed his satisfaction with the outcome, stating that the programme had received an overwhelming reception from the elderly community.

On March 15, it continued its health sports activities with a session at Rebonwe Park in Ivory Park, partnering with Joburg Health, Joburg Social Development (Elderly Unit), Tshwaranang Treatment Centre, and Gauteng Sports Art Culture and Recreation for a successful 5km parkrun.
