Young model Nomadlozi Mahlangu is the new ambassador for Miss Rovers
From a budding pageant enthusiast to an inspiring role model for young women in her community, Nomadlozi Mahlangu has come far in her 17 years.
Nomadlozi Mahlangu, a 17-year-old local beauty queen, has captivated hearts and earned the title of Miss Rovers ambassador through her hard work and dedication.

This achievement follows her impressive performances at beauty pageants in early August at the Rabie Ridge Community Hall, where she attracted significant attention.
The role is a dream come true for Nomadlozi, a dedicated learner at Tembisa Jiyana Secondary School, who has nurtured a passion for the beauty pageant industry for years.
Reflecting on her journey, she stated, “I attended a beauty pageant as a child, which ignited my ‘pageant spark’. That moment inspired me to pursue modelling.” This experience laid the groundwork for her aspirations in modelling.

Nomadlozi admires South African actress Nomzamo Mbatha for her talent and commitment to empowering young women, and finds inspiration in Sanele Khuzwayo, founder of Face Of Rabie Ridge, and Sbonakaliso Biyela, who fueled her passion for pageantry. Their influence has been pivotal in her journey.
Her upbringing emphasised self-discipline and community service, which she considers essential for her life and career. Public speaking and leadership experiences have equipped her for the responsibilities of being an ambassador. She believes that assertiveness, empathy, integrity, resilience, humility, and strong leadership skills are crucial for success.
Nomadlozi asserts that true beauty lies in one’s character and kindness, not just physical appearance.
“Claiming that models are confident and have high self-esteem is an understatement. Beauty pageants allow young women to showcase their skills, values, and passions, shaping how they present themselves in society.”
As ambassador for Miss Rovers, she aims to promote beauty pageants while uplifting her community. Her vision goes beyond the stage, as she seeks to positively impact other’s lives.
“My message to other aspiring models is one of empowerment and encouragement. Mastering discipline is crucial, and consistency is key. Persistency is a skill you need to cultivate. Never limit your potential; always strive for growth and improvement.”
Through her journey, Nomadlozi hopes to inspire young women to pursue their dreams with determination and resilience, proving that hard work and dedication can make anything possible.
