Society for Animals in Distress joins Chery SA at the launch, receives R20 000

Marketing and brand manager at Chery South Africa Verene Petersen said aim to partner with Meg Harvey in raising awareness about empathy towards animals.

The Society for Animals in Distress (Said) was privileged to attend the launch event hosted by Chery South Africa on November 1 where they unveiled Chery Tiggo 4 Cross and the establishment of the Chery Foundation.

The Chery Foundation launched with a substantial R1m initial fund, aims to support key initiatives focused on education, environmental conservation, and sustainable development.

Said is among the first organisations to benefit from this inspiring new foundation.

Meg Harvey, Said CEO said during the event, they received a generous donation of R10 000 from Chery, matched by their financing partner, WesBank, for a total of R20 000 in support of animal welfare efforts in under-served communities.

“This partnership marks a significant step forward in our mission to uplift animals and communities in need. We are deeply grateful to Chery South Africa for their generosity and commitment to creating positive change. Supporters of Said and animal welfare advocates are encouraged to consider Chery when looking for a new vehicle, knowing that a portion of their purchase will be directed toward meaningful social impact through the foundation,” said Harvey.

Verene Petersen, marketing and brand manager at Chery South Africa said they have pledged to contribute a portion of proceeds from every car sold to the Chery Foundation, providing ongoing support for community-focused initiatives.
