Big day for Summerhill’s little learners as schools opens

Big emotions on a big day as Grade 1s start school at Summerhill School SA.

There were equal measures of excitement and anxiety as schools officially opened on January 14, with Grade 1 learners at Summerhill School SA stepping into classrooms for the very first time.

Tiny uniforms and nervous smiles filled the school classes as parents accompanied their children, offering words of encouragement and final hugs before handing them over to teachers.

Teachers and school staff were on hand to warmly welcome the young learners, helping ease their fears and guide them into their new routines. Laughter and tears mingled as some children adjusted quickly, while others clung tightly to their parents before bravely heading off to class.
