Multi-department operation targets service delivery and law enforcement in Midrand

City manager Floyd Brink led a co-ordinated operation across Midrand, targeting non-compliance and pressing service delivery challenges.

A large-scale service delivery and law enforcement operation was carried out across Midrand on January 28, under the oversight of City of Johannesburg city manager Floyd Brink, as authorities intensified efforts to restore order and improve compliance in key areas.

The co-ordinated operation targeted several hotspots, including Noordwyk, Midrand CBD, Carlswald North Estate, Lever Road, San Ridge, and Kyalami Corner, where officials addressed a range of service delivery and by-law enforcement issues.

As part of the operation, the team moved to an informal settlement along Kyalami Road, where alcohol was confiscated from two illegal shebeens operating without permits. Officials also identified illegal electricity connections and intervened against unlawful informal trading activities in the area.

The operation continued in Midrand, with inspections conducted at various business premises. At popular entertainment venue Cheeky Tiger, officials identified development planning compliance issues, including inadequate ventilation.
