Unstable water supply forces Region A residents to rely on water tankers

With no timeline for full restoration, the greater Midrand and Ivory Park communities will depend on water trucks and JoJo tanks for now.

Residents across Region A, greater Midrand and Ivory Park, are advised that all wards will, for now, rely on water trucks and stationary water tanks as the water supply system remains unstable.

Councillors from Region A were in a meeting with Johannesburg Water on January 28. There is currently no estimated time for the full restoration of tap water. Updates will be shared as soon as there are improvements.

Johannesburg Water has released the official water resource allocation plan for the area. Tankers will rotate, and arrival times may vary. There will be three stationary JoJo tanks and two roaming water tankers per ward. Residents are urged to bring their own clean containers.
