Ralmed Ambulance Service – Community support medical vehicle

Ralmed has launched a dedicated community medical vehicle to provide prompt assistance to individuals requiring both emergency and non-emergency medical attention.

In a bid to enhance emergency medical response services and cater to the diverse healthcare needs of the community, Ralmed Ambulance Services has launched a dedicated community medical vehicle. This innovative initiative aims to provide prompt assistance to individuals requiring both emergency and non-emergency medical attention within the surrounding areas.

The community medical vehicle is equipped with essential medical supplies and staffed by trained paramedics and emergency medical technicians. Residents can now rely on this specialised vehicle to receive timely medical assistance, whether it be for urgent emergencies or non-critical medical needs such as at-home basic patient assessment.

“We are thrilled to introduce this dedicated community medical vehicle to the area,” said Owen Man-hire, the director at Ralmed Ambulance Services. “Our goal is to ensure that individuals in our community have access to high-quality medical care whenever they need it, regardless of the nature of their medical concerns. This initiative represents our commitment to serving the healthcare needs of the community effectively.” He emphasised the importance of community engagement and collaboration in ensuring the success of this initiative.

The community medical vehicle is designed to respond swiftly to emergency calls, and medical incidents, providing immediate on-scene medical care. Additionally, the vehicle will offer non-emergency medical services such as at-your-place basic medical assessments, contributing to the overall well-being of residents.

Owen Man-hire highlighted that a significant number of individuals relying on chronic medication often express the desire for skilled medical professionals to occasionally come into their homes to get readings on vital health indicators such as blood pressure, blood sugar levels, and ECG readings. “Many chronic patients do not want to create a false alarm, and rather prefer to get these basic non-diagnostic assessments in the convenience of their homes before determining the necessity of seeking further medical care from a doctor at a hospital,“ stated Man-hire.

Residents have welcomed the introduction of the community medical vehicle, recognising the value it brings to the community. “Having a medical vehicle that caters to non-emergency situations is a game-changer for our community. I stay with my father who has chronic diabetic and cardiac conditions. Some patients are stable at home and need to obtain accurate basic medical readings to later share and consult with their treating medical specialists. Unnecessarily going to the emergency room can result in long waiting times, as more critical patients are prioritised for care before you,” said Allan Nkonsana, a resident

As the dedicated community medical vehicle begins operations, residents can rest assured that reliable and compassionate medical assistance is just a phone call away. With a focus on responsiveness, professionalism, and community-centred care, Ralmed Ambulance is poised to make a significant impact on healthcare services in the area.   For more information about the emergency and non-emergency medical services provided by RALMED’s community medical vehicle, residents are encouraged to contact the ambulance service directly or visit the website for details on coverage areas and service offerings.
