Joint operation team makes an impact in Sector 2

The multidisciplinary team succeeded in finding four unlicensed firearms.

The Midrand Sector 2 joint operation team have had another successful week reducing crime in Midrand.

In the hours between 19:00 and 23:00 on July 28, the multidisciplinary team – consisting of the Midrand police, Sector Crime Forum patrollers, ADT security, Hawkeye Security, and TRSS Security – made a huge impact in Midrand suburbs once again.

Midrand Sector 2 patrols and operations’ Nolan Naidoo said, “The operation started off with a rush towards Halfway House as there was a large fire visible from Vorna valley. A team member escorted the Midrand firetruck to the scene to assist.”

As the night progressed, they recovered four unlicensed firearms in separate incidents.

The multidisciplinary team also received a call to provide backup to a tracking company for a stolen vehicle that was within their reach, although it turned out the owner had logged a false alert.

Midrand Police Station encourages residents to report illegal activities occurring in their neighbourhood.
