Manny Yack releases another single

Zakrim Phiri's single, Ama Polo, tells a story about a couple that lives together, but then cheats with a Polo driver who the boyfriend mistook for an Uber.

Hardworking and versatile songwriter, singer, and rapper Zakrim Phiri, popularly known as Manny Yack, has released another single – with some festive grooves.

Phiri has decided to address the issue of Volkswagen Polo drivers who supposedly snatch people’s girlfriends, in his new single titled, Ama Polo.

The latest single, by the 27-year-old from Waterfall City, was released on October 21 and has over 29 000 views on YouTube.

The Ambitiouz Entertainment artist tells the story of a couple who stays together, but the woman becomes unfaithful and is snatched away from him by a polo driver, which he had mistaken for an Uber.

“The song is just me putting into words what happens in the hood during the festive season. Anybody who is from the hood knows this very well. Polo drivers are notorious for causing havoc [by taking people’s girlfriends], and no one has made a song about it, so I decided to do it, hopefully, it does not offend them,” said Phiri.

Zakrim Phiri aka Manny Yack hopes his latest single will not offend other Polo drivers.

This track follows two singles, Sis Rambo [Siter Rambo] and Bhut’ Cinderella [Brother Cinderella] which he released back-to-back in August this year.

The new Afro-pop song is an upbeat tune and perfect for any place or occasion. Ama Polo is released alongside a music video that shows exactly what Phiri is singing about in this latest single.

Describing the music video, Phiri said, “We can see a lady being picked up by a Polo driver, and they party all night while he [boyfriend] is devastated at home waiting for her to come back, little does he know that he is being cheated on.”

Phiri also released a hip-hop single titled Noodles earlier this year which features Intaba yase Dubai, whose real name is Lindokuhle Msomi.
