Nokuphila School proud to have launched Grade 8 class and The Love Trust Legacy Fund in 2024

Naleli Mokone, donor liaison officer, said they are hoping to raise R100m by the 2060 academic year with their newly launched The Love Trust Legacy Fund.

The 2024 academic year saw Nokuphila School launch its first Grade 8 class with 36 learners.

This group has received a holistic education, as they did in their primary school years at the President Park-based school.
Not only did the Nokuphila School launch its first Grade 8 class, but they also launched The Love Trust Legacy Fund, with support from some of their existing donors and partners.

Donor liaison officer at Love Trust Naleli Mokone said, “The Love Trust Legacy Fund is more than an endowment fund. It’s a beacon of long-term support for our organisation and a promise to future generations that the values and work you care about will continue to thrive long after their lifetime”.

As of 2024, their adult education and training programme has trained over 1 000 early childhood development (ECD) practitioners. The trust’s work integrated learning programme has also grown from two interns in 2023 to six in 2024.

“In 2025, we look forward to welcoming our first Grade 9 class. Some of these learners started at Nokuphila in Grade 000, some joined the group along the way. There will be about 40 learners in the new Grade 9 class. We also look forward to welcoming the new Grade 1 class from our very own preschool,” she added.

The school said they will host a Colour Fun Run and Colour Blast event on March 29, 2025.
This event is aimed at raising funds so that the organisation can continue its operational obligations.

“We are looking to sell 500 tickets and are excited at the prospect of success of the event. Additionally, we hope to grow the reach of our legacy fund. We aim to raise R100m with our legacy fund and invite all individuals to give towards the fund,” Mokone concluded.
