Two men shot dead in Rabie Ridge as police investigate

The suspects are alleged to have been looking for an individual at a house operating as a tavern.

Rabie Ridge Police responded to a double shooting on Raven Avenue in Extension 2, Rabie Ridge, on Saturday night, April 25.

Upon arrival, the officers received information that one of the victims, a 38-year-old man, was inside a tavern assisting the son of the tavern owner to pack some beers in the fridge at about 19:00, when four unknown men came inside, pretending to be customers, inquiring about beer prices.

After a few minutes, three of the suspects drew firearms and shot the victim, and took his firearm that was tucked into his waist.

The victim was declared dead on the scene.

The four suspects ran out of the tavern, firing several gunshots.

He was rushed to the hospital and was declared dead on arrival.

The suspects fled the scene on foot.

No arrests were made, and the motive of the shooting remains unknown.

Rabie police are investigating a double murder and are appealing to anyone who might have information regarding the suspects to come forward or anonymously call the police on 08600 10111.
