Teams clash for championship spot in quarterfinals of the Ikeja Lerato Lamola Winter Games

Quarterfinals excitement filled the Ikeja Lerato Lamola Winter Games as three teams booked their semi-final places and fans eagerly awaited the outcome of the final knockout clash.

The race for a new champion is officially on after the quarterfinals of the 11th edition of the Ikeja Lerato Lamola Winter Games kicked off on June 27, setting the stage for an exciting conclusion to the popular community football tournament on June 28.

With defending champions Marashia already knocked out of the competition, this year’s tournament is guaranteed to crown a new winner, adding to the excitement as teams battle for a place in the final.
The day’s opening quarter-final, played at 09:30, saw United FC deliver a composed and clinical display to defeat PSG 3–1 and secure the first semi-final berth.

At 11:30, 012 Ayifun’Wena produced another dominant performance, overcoming Mogodumo 2–0 to advance to the last four.

The third quarter-final, played at 13:30, was a tightly contested affair, with Ditau edging Malandelela 2–1 to claim their place in the semi-finals.

The final quarter-final between Mudagasi and GwaraGwara was still underway while writing this article.

Mudagasi have secured the final spot in the last four of the Ikeja Lerato Lamola Winter Games, edging GwaraGwara 1–0 in a tightly contested quarter-final played on June 27.
With the result, Mudagasi join Ditau FC, 012 Ayifun’Wena, and United FC in the semi-finals, setting up a thrilling conclusion to the tournament on June 28.

The semi-final fixtures will see Ditau FC lock horns with 012 Ayifun’Wena, while Mudagasi faces United FC in the second clash, with both winners advancing to the final scheduled for later the same day at Lord Khanyile Sports Ground in Es’Godini.
The first semi-final is set to kick off at 09:45, followed by the second match at 11:45, as the competition moves into its decisive stage to crown the 11th edition champions of the Winter Games.
