WomenCan’s A Night of Mystery Gala and WomenCan Awards return this month under the theme Rebirth and Reinvention.

We celebrate women across the country who break boundaries in corporates, build enterprises with purpose, transform communities, and lead with humanity. This event recognises unsung local leaders.

Taking place on August 29 in Midrand, the WomenCan Awards serve as a platform that recognises excellence and amplifies real stories of women driving meaningful impact in their communities and industries.

Tumi Mthembu, founder of WomenCan, said, “We are entering a bold new era of rebirth and reinvention, where community is power.

The awards are dedicated to women who are breaking boundaries and redefining what it means to succeed and empower other women. That is the future we are building.”

The 2025 award recipients, including DJ Zinhle, Ntando Zikalala, Professor Elelwani Ramugondo, Nozibele Mayaba, Dr Boitumelo Petla, Nomathamsanga Malatsi, Tanie Codes Organisation, Alex Boavida, Nompendulo Makhwatsha and Bokang Monjane Tshabalala, will pass on the baton by celebrating and recognising phenomenal women across different categories.

The awards include the Powerhouse Award, Sky, Beacon of Home, the Butterfly, Heart of Soul, and Cornerstone Awards, among others.

The ceremony will feature a keynote address by Finance and Accounting Services Sector Education and Training Authority CEO Ayanda Mafuneka, a panel discussion on real stories of empowerment and transformation, and will conclude with an awards celebration.
