Kyalami riders come up trumps
KYALAMI - Kyalami pony riders cleaned up at the Pony Rider SA Champs in Port Elizabeth.
Kyla Brimacombe riding Why Not is the victorious title winner of the 1.2m Grand Prix.
The pony-and-rider combination was followed by Nina Holloway and Cruisa Hakuna Matata in second place and Travis Dawson riding Highover Chelsea in third place.
Gauteng Horse Society’s Nicole Masson riding Fantasmic also excelled, as she clinched the title of South African Pony Rider Equitation Individual Champion.
The society’s eventing team placed third in the South African Pony Rider Championships team eventing. Pony riders making up the team were Rachael Stevenson, Nicole Brown, Gigi Lugard and Kyle Lambie.
In the other 1.2m classes Brimacombe and Why Not won the welcome stakes with Holloway riding Tattoine Bobbysox in second place and Savanna Valjalo riding Forsight Gluwein in third place.
Holloway and Cruisa Hakuna Matata won the 1.2m two phase competition. Erin Dos Santos and Whisperer placed second and Dylan Muller and First For Horses Tequila Girl placed third.
The 1.1m championship was won by Kimberly Cunningham and Nemesis. Teegan Bruyns riding Magic Rambo placed second with Dylan Muller and First for Horses Dreamcatcher in third place.
The 1m championship was won by Elloise Jorritsma riding Field Mistress. Libby Richardson and African Nobuthle placed second and Shelby Joubert and Tigger Thyme placed third.
