Horwood starts SA Derby show in placings
KYALAMI - IT seems last year's SA Derby winner, Nicole Horwood is bringing the heat to this year's Galencia Property SA Derby at Kyalami Equestrian Park.

On day one, Horwood riding Capital Colnardo placed second in the 1.45m welcome stakes class, beaten by Rainer Korber on Leandros de Semilly and followed by Shaun Neill on Delmon Mining & Civils Clyde Z in third place.
Another rider hopeful of winning the SA Derby is Barry Taylor and he has started the show on a good foot, winning the 1.4m welcome stakes riding Nissan Animous. Govett Triggol riding Lucy Liu placed second and Johan Kachelhoffer riding Capital Castigo placed third.
In the 1.35m class, Tarryn-Anne Combrink riding Brandenburg Crimson Tide placed first, Lorette Knowles-Taylor riding Nissan Double Vision placed second and Tessa van Duuren riding Romantic Axe placed third.
The SA Derby will be held at the Kyalami equestrian complex until 6 October and the showjumping highlight ends with the anticipated SA Derby.
