Golfers to descend on Blue Valley
BLUE VALLEY - International golf players will tee off and aim for a birdie on Midrand turf in December.

Golf fanatics will have the chance to admire the techniques of the likes of Simon Hobday, Chris Williams, Norman Mashaba, Jeff Hawkes, Bobby Lincoln, Robbie Stewart, John Mashego, Neville Clarke, Laurison Mahlangu and Gabriel Putsoe.
They will be playing in the 2013 South African Senior Open Championship at Blue Valley Gold and Country Club.
Top 22 SAGA ranked players Jock Wellington and Mellette Hendrikse will be among the amateur players at the tournament. Amateur players in the community can also take a swing in this event in the Corporate Pro-Am on 1 December.
The Blue Valley Golf Course is designed by Gary Player and the international tournament will take place from from 1 to 4 December.
On 1 December, sponsors, guests and amateur entrants will have the chance to compete, before the Open commences with the first two rounds on 2 and 3 December. There will be a cut after 36 holes to approximately 60 players and ties.
Those who make the cut, professionals and amateurs, will compete on 4 December for the winner’s cheque and trophy.
The tournament is open to all senior professional golfers and amateurs over 50 years old. Sponsorship opportunities are available.
