SA8 on a mission to win

MIDRAND - Having already defeated some of the top favourites, the Midrand Cricket Club’s SA8 team took on another heavyweight in their division in the form of Heidelberg Cricket Club on 2 November.

On a blistering day on their home ground, Midrand won the toss and elected to bat. It took a team effort for the hosts to get to 181, as the batting was challenging.

With their opposition not managing to bowl their overs on time, Midrand was awarded an additional 50 runs.

Heidelberg Cricket Club came out of the change on a mission and their top order quickly got stuck into the Midrand side’s bowling.

Early wickets for the home side, however, would prove critical and despite a threatening start, the visitor’s response would eventually collapse under sustained pressure by Midrand’s bowling.

In so doing, Midrand Cricket Club recorded their fourth win out of five.

Along with their success, Midrand Cricket Club is appealing for new players.
