Knowles-Taylor wins qualifier
KYALAMI - There was no denying Lorette Knowles Taylor riding Nissan Watch Me of first place in the Nissan FEI World Cup Qualifier in Port Elizabeth this weekend.

The Gauteng Horse Society, based in Kyalami, horse-and-rider combination cleared the 1.5m course in challenging windy and rainy conditions.
There were 18 horse-and-rider combinations that entered the competition but after the first round only seven qualified to enter into round two.
Ashlee Hausberger riding Corea Fight, and Dominey Alexander riding Enjoy 68 both incurred four faults, Marlene Sinclair riding Amaretto incurred eight faults, and Peter Morrison riding Mcsa Alzu Luanda incurred five faults, including one time penalty.
Three riders rode clear rounds, they were Knowles Taylor riding Nissan Watch Me P, Jeanne Engela on Chanel van de Zeshoek and Bronwyn Short on Fountain of Love.
Knowles-Taylor had the winning time of 46:74, with Short not far behind with 48:12, to place second, while Engela placed third with a time of 52:03.
Fourth place went to Alexander riding Enjoy 68, with Morrison riding Mcsa Alzu Luanda in fifth, Sinclair riding Amaretto in sixth, and finally, Hausberger riding Corea Fight finished seventh.
