KLIPFONTEIN - Senior and U15 soccer teams went head to head in a soccer tournament held by Mayibuye and Klipfontein Football Association.

Chairperson of the association, Mike Tshipu explained the first leg of the tournament was held on 28 and 29 June in Mayibuye.

Tshipu said the senior and U15 teams who did not play on 28 and 29 June took to the soccer pitch on 5 and 6 July to play their games. The winners from this round will play against each other on 12 and 13 July, and those winners will go through to the final leg which will be held on 20 July in Rabie Ridge.

The results from the matches held on 5 and 6 July were:

U15 matches:

  •  Tshidi and Classic drew 1-1 to go through to the penalty round which saw Classic win 3-1
  •  Vultures won against Kleurkop: 3-2
  •  Landam won against Leeds: 2-0
  •  Dribbling won against Forgive: 3-0

In the senior teams:

  •  MDF and Madisha drew 1-1 to enter a penalty shoot-out which saw MDF win: 10-9
  •  Blackpool beat Classic: 4-3
  •  Veteran scored a win against Phomololong: 4-0.
