He wants to go fast
DAINFERN - He may only be seven years old, but Bjorn Bertholdt is racing rings around his competition.
The Dainfern College pupil had an unforgettable start to his 2015 Karting season.
Bertholdt competed in round 1 of the Zwartkops Rand Kart Club Championship and managed to take pole position. Bertholdt won heat 1, heat 2 and heat 3 and took first overall in the cadet class for the day.
He competed again in round 2 of the competition and received the best overall in the cadet class again. Bertholdt scored some valuable points on both race days which has given him a commanding lead in the championship.
Berthholdt comes from a family of motorsport champions. His grandfather Bodo Bertholdt was a pioneer in off-road racing in South Africa. Bertholdt’s father Gary currently competes in the Donaldson Cross country racing series.
