Pearson Football Club emerge league victors
MIDRAND – Pearson Institute for Higher Education Football Club will now play in the Safa Regional Promotion League.
Pearson Institute of Higher Education Football Club has emerged champions of the 2017 Midrand Local Football Association Premier League.
This after they defeated the Tiger Boys 2–0 in the final game of the league played at the Ivory Park Stadium. Chairperson of the Midrand Football Local Association, Bob Maredi said the league, which started last year, had been a big success.
“The league was very exciting and competitive. It was a journey of a hard fought 30 games and we hope that we will attract businesses around Midrand to sponsor the league,” he said.
Matches were played in Ivory Park, Mayibuye, Klipfontein, Kanana and at Pearson Institute for Higher Education sports fields with 16 teams from around Midrand participating. Midrand Rovers came second in the league and Rabie Ridge All Stars took third position.
