Inter win Councillor’s Cup

MIDRAND – Councillor's Cup saw 16 teams battling it out in Kanana, Rabie Ridge.

 

Rabie Ridge’s Ward 80 councillor Makgoba Pagadi hosted the four-day Councillor’s Cup at Kanana Sports Ground from 16 to 25 September.

Sixteen teams battled it out in the tournament which was organised by community members Fora Tsibi and Koloi Mohumotse together with the ward committee member for sports and culture, Lehlohonolo Maako.

City of Johannesburg’s Region A donated the trophies and medals.

Ward 80 councillor Makgoba Pagadi (headband) hands out the trophies and medals to participants.

The final was between Inter Milan and the Gunners with Inter coming out victorious. Pagadi said the event would continue to grow and empower youth in the community to have fun in a safe environment.

Prizes were as follows:

  • First prize went to Inter Milan which received R5 000 plus soccer kits, a cup and medals
  • Second prize was R2 500 and medals
  • Third and fourth teams received R2 500 each.
