Tshuma Stingers thrash the Alex Wolves
MIDRAND – Local rugby side beats their opponents 52–17 in league match.
Tshuma Stingers paved their way into the second round of the Golden Lions Senior Grand Challenge with a convincing win over Alex Wolves.
The rugby match was held in Soweto on a chilly 15 June and Lofty Tyebileyo’s Midrand side won the match 52–17.
Stingers player Nathan Kok scored an early try in the eighth minute and followed it up with a successful conversion. Stingers maintained possession for most of the first half.
This allowed Stingers captain, Simbarashe Chadya, as well as teammates Vuyo Bacela, Innocent Mokoena and Kok (his second try) to also score tries for Stingers before the break.

The Wolves could only score one try before half-time and the score was 31–5 to Stingers as the whistle blew.
The second half was just as exciting, with Mxolisi Hlophe scoring a try for Stingers before Wolves replied with another try to keep them in the game. All this in the first few minutes.
But it was not to be for Wolves, as Hlophe scored his second try to make it 45–12. A yellow card gave Stingers a scare near the end of the game as they were reduced to 14 men and Wolves immediately scored a try.

But to dash the Wolves’ hopes yet again, Chandie Chadya muscled his way over the line for the last try of the day. “We knew this Alexandra side would turn up and give us a good test, but we are happy to have created good momentum going into the top four of the tournament,” said Chadya.
