Midrand High School’s coach Tebogo Letsoalo said he could see the passion for the game in the players and the coaches after not being able to play due to Covid-19.

He added that after two weeks of training and having to choose the most talented players a few days before the match, Midrand High players showed great stamina and guts against Noordwyk.

“Midrand had a lot of opportunities to convert into goals, however, the opposition’s goalkeeper proved to be on the mark and on the ball,” Letsoalo said.

“Midrand lost by two goals, however, considering our players had never played on the field with one another, this was a great learning experience for our budding team.”

He concluded, “The match did bring a lot of individuals together in support of their school as well as to proudly represent their school.”

The results for the other teams were as follows:

• U14 Midrand High won 2–1 against Noordwyk Secondary

• U15 Midrand High School drew against Noordwyk Secondary.
