Clubs kick into gear

MIDRAND – All players were presented with medals for their participation in the game of soccer.


Five football clubs participated in a tournament to see if it was viable to establish a local league in Midrand.

This according to Siyajabula Soccer Freestylers’ coach Emmanuel Khoza.

His club hosted four other clubs – Diski 99, Tembisa Football Club, Golden Girls Football Club and Home Landers Football Club – from October 9 to 23.

The tournament also saw teams comprised of female-only players in an effort to allow for inclusivity. To recognise the boys and girls for their sportsmanship, all players were presented with medals at the end of the day.

Boys U10

• Tembisa vs Diski 99 1–0

• Siyajabula vs Home

Landers 0–0

Boys U12

• Tembisa vs Diski 99 0–2

• Siyajabula vs Home
