Midrand Spoilers fail to make league impact

Midrand Spoilers suffered a 2–0 loss against Prestige Football Academy on November 26 at Rabie Ridge Stadium in the Joburg men’s regional league encounter.

Spoiler coach Lukhona Mrinjana explained that the reason his team has only collected four points in four games is that they still haven’t found combinations and line-ups they can depend on.

“In order to return to winning ways, we must have a proper training programme, especially in finishing, as well as a trusted first eleven because we change our first eleven every week, which means we cannot build any combinations,” said Mrinjana.

Nine goals have been conceded so far by the side and six were scored in the 6-1 loss to Opopo FC on November 19, one was scored in the 1–1 draw with Wolfs on November 5, and two were scored in the Prestige loss. Their 2-0 victory over Rangers on November 12 was their only clean sheet.

Mrinjana pointed out that in their last game, they failed to convert their chances and the opponents had only two chances and converted both.

Prestige opened their scoring in the first half through a penalty and sealed their victory in the second half through a tap-in.

Spoilers dropped to position 12 of the log and will visit Double Touch on November 30 at Westbury and on December 3 they will travel to Block Park to face Apaa FC for their next league encounters.
