In late June this year ahead of the Fifa Women’s World Cup 2023, Midrand was honoured by a visit from the Banyana Banyana world cup team.

Curro Midrand Sagewood sports coordinator Dwain Dudley coordinated with Safa a training clinic for young upcoming female soccer players in the area.

The world cup team was welcomed by Dudley and JR Sports Solutions Academy director and coach Radia Monga who introduced the young players to the high-spirited world cup team.

The Banyana team players went out of their way to make the young ladies feel extra special by encouraging them through their drills, singing, and dancing when they succeed.

The Bayana Banyana players did not just plan soccer drills but also fun team-building activities.

The atmosphere was filled with excitement as the girls got to train closely with their favourite team players, getting a taste of being part of a professional team.

The training ended with lots of photos, autographs, and unforgettable memories.

“The event was truly an inspiration for the young ladies, motivating them to pursue their dreams of becoming professional soccer players,” said Monga.

“On behalf of the Midrand soccer community, we wish Banyana success at the world cup.”
