Local NPO grateful for help received over the year
IVORY PARK – Bantu Bambanani director said she wishes the government can start assisting them in the coming year.
Bantu Bambanani, a local non-profit organisation in Ivory Park has reflected back on the year.
Phina Roy, the founder and director shared some of her highlights over the year and expressed gratitude to one of their main sponsors.
“Our high is getting sponsorship from different organisations, especially Food For Life for feeding my orphans on a daily basis to date,” Roy said.
She added that although they did get help on a regular basis, there were still some hurdles. “Not receiving funding from the government is stressful because we do a lot for the community, now imagine what we could do with their funding as well.
“Covid-19 also was very bad. We could not do our job because of lockdown because we did not not have personal protective equipment.”
Roy hoped that next year came with better luck and the government could fund them so that they could run their organisation and make a bigger difference.
“We wish to get sponsors and scholarships for the children and funding so that we can run our projects.
“Bantu Bambanani would like to wish everyone Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to everyone who supported us this year, they must continue doing that again next year . Thank you very much.”
