Elders spend the weekend behind bars

According to the local police spokesperson Const Peace Mbokane the two elders were found in possession of dagga weighing 2,360kg worth a street value of R3 000. One of them was found with R1070 cash in his pockets.

ELUKWATINI: Two men aged between 54 and 58 years spend the weekend behind police holding cells after being arrested in connection with dealing in drugs.

Mr Abel Nkosi and Enock Kubheka were arrested on April 12 by police from Elukwatini police station after receiving a tip off about their deals. According to the local police spokesperson Const Peace Mbokane the two elders were found in possession of dagga weighing 2,360kg worth a street value of R3 000. One of them was found with R1070 cash in his pockets.

“The police then questioned them about the ownership of the dagga but both mumbled and were lost for words. One of them admitted that the he was the house owner,” explained Mbokane.The two men briefly appeared before the Eesterhoek Magistrate’s Court and the were remanded in custody.

The matter for further investigations to April 20.
