Man beaten to death by mob justice
It is alleged that neighbours assaulted the man and he later died on the scene.
KANYAMAZANE – A 25-year-old man was beaten to death by community members on Saturday night.
This comes after he allegedly broke into a house. The owner of the house heard movements inside the house and screamed for help.
Neighbours came out to his rescue. They assaulted the man and he later died on the scene. Two people were arrested, but were both released on free bail.
The house owner explained to the police that he called for help, not for the neighbours to kill the person. He allegedly tried stopping them from assaulting the deceased, but hell broke loose, as community members were very angry about the incident.
Kanyamazane police spokesperson, Capt Jabu Ndubane said an investigation is underway and a case of murder has been opened.
