Mozambicans arrested for illegal immigration

They were stopped and searched, only to discover they did not have any documents to cross the border.

KOMATIPOORT – The Hawks Serious Organized Crime Investigation Unit arrested eight Mozambicans for the contravention of Immigration Act yesterday.

The suspects, aged between 19 and 40, comprising five females and three males, were caught by members of the Hawks ascending from a hill next to Komatipoort Port of Entry between South Africa and Mozambique.

They were stopped and searched, only to discover they did not have Identity Documents or Passports for them to cross the border.

The suspects will appear before the Komatipoort Magistrate’s Court today.
