Sam Holdings owner facing charges of fraud and corruption

Investigations revealed that he attempted to bribe a Home Affairs official with R40 000 not to verify his South African citizenship status.

Sam Chabalala, popularly known as Sam of Sam Holdings appeared in the Witbank Magistrate’s Court today.

According to the Hawks, he faces charges of fraud, corruption, possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition as well as contravention of the immigration Act 13 of 2002.

The case postponed to Friday, September 13 for a formal bail application while he remains in custody.
