Mabilane was arrested on October 2 after her mother-in-law questioned her about the baby, and Mandlazi was arrested the following day.
KABOKWENI – The alleged suspects of the death of a month-old baby have been remanded in custody by a local magistrate.
This is after this publication reported in our last edition that the couple had been arrested in connection with the death of their own baby.
It was also alleged that the father had allegedly held the baby by the legs and hit her head against the wall. blood stains were also on the scene.
Mr Thokozani Collen Mandlazi (30) and Ms Pretty Mabilane (27) appeared before the Kabokweni Magistrate court after they were arrested in connection with allegedly murdering their month old daughter and buried her in a shallow stream near Half-way and Bhuga last week.
Mabilane was arrested on October 2 after her mother-in-law questioned her about the baby, and Mandlazi was arrested the following day.
The pair first appeared on October 4 to confirm their names,and were charged with murder. They again appeared last week Thursday for bail application, which was postponed to October 22. The couple were remanded in custody by the magistrate.
