MBOMBELA – Buscor Corporation recently upgraded its security system with more than 10 security guards from various companies to eliminate crime in their operational area – the bus terminus.
The company saw the need to upgrade the security system after bus commuters had a bad tendency of opening the back door of the train bus.
One of the commuters, Jane Masinga said, “I was one of those who were addicted to using the back door, I found it hard to adjust to the new system. However, it helps us to get home early because we don’t stand in queues for that long anymore.”
The security system has been a huge assistance during these past few weeks. The aim of the company is to provide transportation with safety buses that have functioning doors and not corked-out windows.
Vuyani Ndlovu, PRO of Buscor said, “The main reason we upgraded, was because we noticed that our elderly are facing a serious problem when using our buses, and we want to protect them from being mugged. The security will also pay serious attention to those who drink alcohol inside the bus as it is not allowed.”
Elizabeth Masinga said, “The new system has assisted us a lot, especially during 17:00 to 18:30, we have to look out for our bags and groceries and waited for more than two hours in the queue.
She added that Gedlembane has the most commuters using buses as their daily transport, but there are not enough buses in the section.
