Chief condemns vandalising of property

Mokoena was reacting on the recent incident where angry service delivery protesters burnt down the Thaba Chweu Local Municipal’s offices last week.

MATIBIDI – The chairperson of the Traditional House of Leaders, Kgoshi Lameck Mathupa Mokoena has condemned the senseless burning down of government properties during service delivery protests.

Mokoena was reacting on the recent incident where angry service delivery protesters burnt down the Thaba Chweu Local Municipal’s offices last week.

“We all know that people of Thaba Chweu aren’t satisfied with the manner basic services are being delivered in their areas, but there is no reason at all to destroy the little that we have.

So, the house of traditional leaders would like to call on all Amakhosi within this municipality to take a stand and guard against such acts, because the very same people that are destroying government property are actually under Amakhosi,” said Mokoena.

Mokoena was addressing community members of this area, just outside Graskop under the Thaba Chweu Local Municipality last week.
