Mandela Month 2015

It is more than a celebration of Mandela’s life and legacy. It is a global movement to honour his life that he has worked and acted to change the world for better.

Nelson Mandela International Day was launched in recognition of Nelson Mandela’s birthday on July 18. It was inspired by a call Nelson Mandela made a year earlier, for the next generation to take on leadership in addressing the world’s social injustices when he said, “it is in your hands now”.

The message behind Mandela Day is each individual has the ability and the responsibility to change the world for the better, such as services and volunteerism, awareness, literacy and education by bringing back Ubuntu pride. Spend your 67 minutes of preserving the Nation.
